Keep your winter clothes looking fresh with these hacks
This week’s winter weather has left us all bundled up, but taking care of winter clothes can be a bit of a chore. Local4 Style Editor Jon Jordan is here to let us know about some helpful tips to keep you looking your best during the polar vortex. Rock salt helps keep roads and sidewalks safe when it’s icy out, but it can also wreak havoc on your clothes. Instead of using cotton balls, try using a cheap washcloth in a matching color. Using a dark washcloth instead will prevent making a mess and save your clothes.
How to stay in style while still staying warm
Living in Michigan means dealing with winter weather, but you shouldn’t let the cold stop you from looking your best. Style editor Jon Jordan is back with tips on how you can dress to impress without freezing. Keeping your hands warm is an important first step to dressing warm, so Jordan recommends finding some trendy gloves to pair with your outfit. He said that long gloves mimic the style of an evening glove and can look particularly fashionable with short sleeved or sleeveless shirts. The last trick Jordan showed off for cold weather was turning a fuzzy tote bag into a seat warmer for cold weather outdoor dining.
Keeping warm (and fashionable) in a winter hat
As style editor Jon Jordan points out, this year we’ll be socializing outdoors more than ever, and in Michigan, that means bundling up. Jordan says to start with the basics, since there are so many options for knit hats. Jordan also showed off a hat with a removable pom pom, which he says makes it more versatile for whatever occasion you’re dressing for. Another big hat trend this year is the bucket hat.
