Novi Home & Garden Show opens this weekend

Southeast Michigan’s premier home improvement event runs April 24-26 at Vibe Credit Union Showplace

Homeowners itching to tackle spring projects will find everything they need under one roof this weekend as the Novi Home and Garden Show opens at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace.

The three-day event, running April 24-26, features more than 350 exhibitors showcasing products and services for interior and exterior home improvement - from landscaping and patios to remodeling and contracting.

“The Novi Home and Garden Show is really the ultimate destination for any homeowner who’s got some sort of a project or change to their living space in mind,” said Forrest Wall, CEO of the Home Builders Association of Southeastern Michigan.

The show is organized by the HBA of Southeastern Michigan, a trade group Wall described as representing home builders, remodelers, trade contractors and “really anybody who touches the residential construction industry.” Wall called it “one of the most significant public outreach efforts that the HBA makes each year.”

In addition to exhibitor displays, the show features a seminar schedule that includes partnerships with the Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association and MSU Extension covering landscaping and gardening, as well as a session on how to hire a contractor.

Wall said the elaborate displays are designed to spark ideas. “It’s an idea space for people to come and really experience what could be in their own home,” he said.

For first-time visitors, Wall offered practical advice: “Come organized,” he said. “Bring photos of your space” and “write your questions out beforehand, even if it’s just in notes on your phone.”

Show hours are noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $9 online and $12 at the door. Parking at Vibe Credit Union Showplace is an additional charge.
