Bookstock B.E.S.T awards inspiring young readers

Annual event at Laurel Park Mall celebrates literacy in metro Detroit

Bookstock is in full swing until Sunday, May 3, at Laurel Park Mall in Livonia. Offering over 400,000 used books, it’s drawing crowds of book lovers, all in support of literacy and education across the metro Detroit community.

Beyond the shelves of great reads, there’s a special program that’s inspiring young writers in a big way, the Bookstock B.E.S.T. Awards contest.

The winner, a 4th grade student was recently awarded the prize, and joined “Live in the D,” to chat about it.
