Skalnek Ford has cut the ribbon on a sweeping new facility that puts it at the forefront of a national redesign push by Ford Motor Company - and makes it the first dealership in Michigan to debut the automaker’s latest concept.
The Lake Orion dealership ditched the traditional showroom layout in favor of open consultation pods, an immersive Bronco lifestyle display, and a centrally located “Hospitality Hub” where customers can grab a coffee from a commercial bean-to-cup machine before browsing.
General Manager Ryan Skalnek said the brand’s lineup made the merchandise area an easy win. “Ford dealers like ourselves, we’re blessed to have some of the best nameplates and brands in the industry,” he said, pointing to Bronco gear and a newly launched Ford Racing collection that have already been popular with shoppers.
One of the standout features is a set of enclosed “Celebration Bays” - climate-controlled delivery suites where technology specialists walk new owners through their vehicle before they hit the road. “It’s just a nice final touch for when you’re driving off in your new Ford,” Skalnek said.
The upgrades extend well beyond the showroom floor. “We’ve doubled our service capacity,” Skalnek said, adding that the dealership is also expanding its technician workforce and offering the Skalnek Family Automotive Scholarship for students pursuing careers in the trades.
