Rock band Ambrosia Blue stopped by Live in the D’s Music Monday segment to talk about their sound, their new song and what’s next, including their debut album and an upcoming festival appearance.
Frontman Lucas Corona said the band draws on classic rock influences while pushing the genre forward for a new era.
“We’re really trying to do our own thing in the context of making music in 2026 and hopefully do it in a way that’s refreshing and still unapologetically rock and roll,” Corona said.
The band performed their new single, “The Danger Starts at Night.” Corona said the song departs from the band’s usual style.
“This is really trying to capture that feeling of that monster under the bed feeling that we’ve all had as a kid, looking into the dark, hearing noises, imagination starts playing tricks on you,” Corona said.
Looking ahead, Corona said the band is gearing up for a busy stretch.
“We’re going to be recording our debut album this winter. We’re really excited to get it out there hopefully by spring,” Corona said.
Before the album drops, Ambrosia Blue will play the Cartoons and Stereo music festival at Big Pink in Detroit, on September 19, an event that will also feature a dunk contest and a skateboarding competition alongside a lineup of bands.
