When officers arrived, they said they found two people who were obviously dead. A 57-year-old man was lying on the bed and a 39-year-old woman was lying on the floor, police said.

Prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia were found throughout the room, police said.

There were no obvious signs of trauma to either of the victims, officials said.

Witnesses told police that the victims were last seen around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. When the woman failed to show up for an appointment with her pastor at 1 p.m. Monday, the pastor went to her motel room, found the two victims and called 911.

Medical officials took custody of the bodies and scheduled an autopsy for Tuesday.
