BROWN CITY, Mich. – You may not know it, but the small Michigan city of Brown is a big home for some of the most exotic animals in the world.
Lions, bears, alligators, mountain lions and more wander the land at Summer Wind Farms Animal Sanctuary.

"We rescue exotic animals. We rescue all different kinds of exotic animals. Monkeys, foxes, lemurs, tigers. You name it, it's here," said sanctuary worker Kelly Dell.
Dell said the sanctuary has a big advantage over a zoo.
"You do get closer. You do get more one-on-one with the animals. You get to interact with them more because everything is close, it has to be," she said.
The sanctuary is home to J.J. and Duke, two tigers who used to be the mascots for the Detroit Tigers baseball team.
"If they weren't here, probably 90 percent of them (the animals) would have been euthanized because there just isn't anywhere else for them to go," Dell said.
