DETROIT – A teen girl drowned in the Detroit River.
According to Detroit Police, officers were dispatched at around 8:30 p.m. on June 27 for a report of 2 teens in the water.

Police say when they arrived one teen safely left the water, the second teen did not resurface.
Authorities say officers began a rescue effort with the Coast guard, Detroit Fire, Harbor Master and Dive team to recover the body of the deceased teen girl.
