DTE Energy said it had to shut down power to a couple thousand customers in the area for about four hours on Thursday to help with the repairs. Power was restored just after 4 p.m.

Troy police said no one was hurt when a car crashed into the pole Wednesday night on Rochester Road near South Boulevard.

ITC, the company that actually owns the pole, has released the following statement:

"We are working to replace our high voltage transmission pole that was damaged in last night's accident.  We expect this work to be completed this afternoon. DTE has informed us that their work to reconnect the distribution line to our pole may result in a brief interruption of service to their customers in the area.  We continue to work with them to manage this process."
