Woman rescued from Detroit River
46-year-old found in water near southwest side of Belle Isle
DETROIT – The U.S. Coast Guard says a 46-year-old woman was pulled from the Detroit River early Wednesday morning near Belle Isle.
A boat from the Coast Guard's station on the island park responded after a 911 dispatcher notified them about 12:30 a.m. that a woman was in the water near the southwest side.
She was found about 30 yards from shore and taken to a hospital for treatment of hypothermia. The Coast Guard says the water temperature was about 36 degrees at the time.
The Coast Guard says it wasn't known how she got into the water and her name wasn't being released.
