DETROIT – Community groups will meet Wednesday to present MDOT with the need for more transportation options, fixing the long-range plan.
Advocates of the group are asking for better public transportation, biking, and walkable areas.

The event, which will spotlight the need for more transit, will take place at the Woodward Avenue overpass over I-94 at 2:00 p.m.
The goal of the group is to generate input into the Michigan Department of Transportation's 2035 Long-Range Transportation Plan. Click here for more information.
The plan, currently being updated, guides state investments for the next 20 years. Public comment is being accepted through Friday.
Transportation Riders United, Michigan Suburbs Alliance, and other groups believe that the draft plan does not reflect the values of Michigan's citizens: safer streets, more investment in transportation choices, and fiscally-responsible spending, according to a press release.
