TROY, Mich. – Troy police say an elderly couple has lost more than $10,000 in a scam.
Police said the unnamed couple got a letter telling them they had won $5.5 million in a sweepstakes and needed to send money to various addresses for service and import fees.

The couple sent the money to unnamed sources before their daughter realized what was happening and stopped them.
