Plane slides off taxiway at Detroit Metro airport

None of 180 passengers on Flight 2283 that was headed to Atlanta were hurt

ROMULUS – A Delta jet slid off a taxiway Monday morning at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

None of the 180 passengers on Flight 2283 that was headed to Atlanta were hurt.

In a statement, Delta Air Lines said the plane went off the taxiway and on to a grassy area around 6:40 a.m.

Everyone was taken off the plane and were taken back to the terminal by bus. Delta said they were rescheduling the passengers on other flights.

Crews were able to move the plane off the taxiway at 10:30 a.m.

It will be inspected.

Delta flight 2283 from Detroit to Atlanta slid off a taxiway onto a grass area at approximately 6:40 a.m. No injuries were reported. All 180 customers have bused to the terminal where their flight will depart on another aircraft later this morning. Delta technicians are working to move and inspect the aircraft.
