Detroit Public Schools to gets new emergency manager Flint emergency manager Darnell Earley named new DPS emergency manager
DETROIT – Detroit Public Schools is getting its fourth emergency manager.
Emergency Manager Jack Martin's term ends Thursday. The city of Flint's emergency manager, Darnell Earley, will succeed Martin at DPS. Earley also served as city manager in Saginaw.
Gov. Rick Snyder made the announcement during a news conference Tuesday afternoon in Detroit.
"I'm proud today to announce that taking Jack's place, following in his legacy of success is Darnell Earley," said Snyder. "Darnell Earley is an outstanding person to take this role."
