Forecast: Beautiful summer weather stays in metro Detroit

Chances for rain are slim over next week

DETROIT – Our "can't complain" forecast has been extended by popular demand!

Tonight, we'll see very similar temperatures to last night -- anywhere from the upper 50s in the urban areas near Detroit to the low 50s in some of the more outlying areas. Skies will be mainly clear through the overnight.

Friday forecast:

We'll end the work week with, you guessed it, more sunshine. There may some high clouds Friday from the rain drying out over the eastern part of the state, but generally another beautiful afternoon ahead. Highs should be slightly warmer, in the upper 70s.

Weekend forecast:

The weekend looks fantastic, with a mix of sun and clouds, continued dry days, and highs right around 80 degrees. Humidity remains low, too.

So the only problem with all of this is the lack of rain. We have one chance of rain between now and the MIDDLE of August! If we don't pick up a good soaking shower with Monday's system, we'll have to wait until NEXT Saturday.

Sprinklers will likely be running on overtime through much of the forecast.
