HOWELL, Mich. – The Livingston County prosecutor’s office has charged a Howell man with lying about having leukemia to collect money, and in a separate molestation case involving a 13-year-old.
Zachary Phillip Jones is charged with identity theft and false pretenses for using a fake doctor’s note to support his illness claim, the prosecutor’s office said.
During their investigation into Jones, police said they also discovered that he had engaged in sexual acts with a male teenager.
Jones is charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
