2 men inside received cuts

It was coming from the west heading to runway 9. It is believed that the engine problems caused it to crash in the Pontiac Lake Recreation park on the other side of Williams Lake Road.

The pilot and passenger in the plane have severe cuts and were taken to the hospital. Whiteford Township police said both men are certified pilots.

Authorities called it "miraculous, unheard of for not one, but both, people to walk away."

The plane was destroyed. Police said it came in too low, hit a tree, lost a wing and hit the ground. Debris spread throughout the park.

The crash is under investigation.
