Hillary Clinton campaigns in Detroit

Front-runner will face rival Bernie Sanders in Flint on Sunday

DETROIT – Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton started her day with a prayer, meeting with African-American ministers in Detroit.

"We have a lot of work to do in our country," Clinton said.

Clinton praised President Barack Obama and his response to the recession, which could have ultimately led to the collapse of the Big Three.

"Let us not forget he saved the auto industry," Clinton said.

Clinton also spoke about the Flint water crisis. The front-runner will face rival Bernie Sanders in Flint on Sunday.

The Democratic National Committee added the debate as stories of lead poisoning made national news.

Meanwhile, her husband, Bill Clinton, spent the day stumping for Hillary in metro Detroit. First he was in Dearborn, where the former president bought Girl Scout cookies.

He then traveled to businesses on the east side, meeting with surprised customers.

Bill Clinton also spoke with union leaders in Detroit, hoping to give Hillary Clinton a boost before the next primary. He ended the speech by recalling his experience in office.
