1 dead, 1 left injured after shooting outside Detroit liquor store

Shooter fires into SUV, killing 26-year-old, police say

DETROIT – Detroit police are looking for the gunman who opened fire early Monday morning on an SUV that was parked outside a liquor store, killing a man and injuring another.

Police said the victims were in a Dodge Durango outside the Spotlight Liquor Store at McNichols and Telegraph roads at about 12:30 a.m. when someone walked up and fired between 11 and 13 shots into the SUV.

A 26-year-old man died. A 40-year-old man is hospitalized.

Police said they do not immediately have a motive for the shooting, or a detailed description of anyone they are looking for in connection with it.

Police said they will be reviewing the store's surveillance video.
