Local man accused of targeting underage girls on Musical.ly, Skype

Hazel Park suspect sought nude photos from 10-year-old through popular apps

DETROIT – Federal investigators say a Hazel Park man enticed a 10-year-old girl to send him nude photos through two popular video apps.

A criminal complaint with child pornography charges was filed Thursday against Tony Burger.

According to the complaint, the girl's father found sexually explicit photos of his daughter on her phone and reported it to police in June. The father said his daughter was talking to someone named Tony, who claimed to be a 14-year-old boy from Florida, on the Musical.ly and Skype apps. The girl told investigators she had taken the photos because Tony had asked her to, the complaint said. The photos included images of the girl topless, in her underwear, and of her genitalia, the complaint said.

Investigators were able to track the accounts to Burger, who admitted to using the apps but not to asking the girl for the photos, the complaint said.

A search of his phone turned up messages with the minor, the complaint said.

“Review of the Skype account on Burger’s phone also revealed other communications between Burger and possible minor girls," the complaint said.

Investigators also said Burgers' account names are known to law enforcement and are part of other ongoing investigations.
