Clinton Township man sentenced to life in prison for toddler's murder

William Mark Warren III found guilty of felony murder, child abuse

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – A Clinton Township man was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison without parole for the murder of his girlfriend's 18-month-old son.

William Mark Warren III was found guilty of felony murder and first-degree child abuse. He was sentenced to life in prison.

His girlfriend, Brandee Wright, testified against him after she pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, second-degree child abuse and lying to a police officer.

Amere Carver, Warren’s son from a previous relationship, suffered severe head trauma and other serious injuries while he was in Warren’s care on Aug. 11. Police said the boy had burns and bruising on his body.

The toddler died two days later.
