DETROIT – A man who was taken into custody Friday in connection with a deadly shooting at a Detroit gas station has been charged with first-degree murder, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced.

Joseph Lucas, 26, was taken into custody as a person of interest in the Thursday shooting on Detroit's east side.

Lucas is charged with first-degree murder and felony firearm. He is expected to be arraigned Saturday morning.

Police named 23-year-old Derrick Everson Jr. and 24-year-old Kyrell Raymond Alonzo as suspects in the slaying. They are still at large. A third unnamed person of interest was taken into custody, police said Friday.

A warrant request for the two suspects has been returned to the Detroit Police Department for further investigation.

Video from a Marathon gas station in the 15000 block of Gratiot Avenue shows the moments before 22-year-old Javon Perry was gunned down Thursday morning in the middle of the road.

Perry stopped for gas just after midnight at the station on Gratiot Avenue at Eastburn Street. Surveillance video shows him being approached by two men before the shooting.

The video shows Perry backing up when the first man started to walk toward him. A second man in a bright colored jacket then approaches him. Perry backs away off screen and is followed by both men.

This video shows the moments before Perry was shot:

One of the men is shown on the video pulling out a handgun. Perry ultimately was shot and killed as he ran away into Gratiot Avenue.

Detroit police said these men are considered armed and dangerous. Police have not said what a motive might have been.

This next video shows the men inside the gas station, police said. Take a close look:

The suspects were driving this gold Buick:

Perry has a young daughter and is remembered by family members as a hard worker who earned everything he had, including his Cadillac.
