DETROIT – Some of the best high schools in Michigan could be in your backyard.

US News & World Report released their annual rankings of the best public schools in the country. 

The rankings are determined by student performance, demographics, graduation rates and college readiness.

Here are the top 40 Michigan high schools, according to the rankings:
