4Warn Weather - A statewide Air Quality Alert will be in effect through Monday as wildfire smoke remains in place.
With winds out of the south-southwest, levels are expected to improve a bit. However, elevated levels of smoke particulates, along with ozone, may present issue for those with respiratory sensitivities.
It will at least be cooler this week. Tonight’s temperatures will fall to near 60°.
Afternoon highs Monday will reach the low 80s as cloud cover increases. You may catch a stray shower in the evening, but most stay dry until the late-night hours.
Strong thunderstorms will be possible overnight Monday into early Tuesday morning.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed Southeast Michigan under a Marginal Risk, a level 1 out of 5, for severe weather. The main storm hazard will be damaging winds. The main time frame looks to be between midnight and 6:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Scattered rain will be possible Tuesday afternoon and evening with highs in the low to mid 80s.
Wednesday and Thursday will be cooler with high temperatures remaining in the mid 70s. We’ll be back around 80 to finish the week with more sunshine.
