Shots fired into Pontiac apartment building with 4 children inside

4 children in apartment at time of shooting

PONTIAC, Mich. – Shots were fired into a Pontiac apartment building Tuesday with four children and a woman inside, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.

Police were called at 1:23 a.m. Tuesday to the 30 block of Waldo Street near Newberry Avenue on reports of shots fired and multiple people fighting.

Deputies didn't find anyone fighting, but a woman who lives on the second floor of the apartment building said she had heard the shots and found bullet holes

She said there was a bullet hole in the hallway and another in a first-floor apartment window. She said the people in the first-floor apartment were not injured.

Police spoke to the 50-year-old woman who lives in the first-floor apartment and she said her two sisters and her children were at home during the shooting. She said they were not hurt.

Two teenage girls, ages 16 and 15, and two young boys, ages 9 and 6, were in the apartment at the time of the shooting.

There are no known suspects, police said.

The incident is still under investigation.
