Detroit police discover $600K worth of marijuana on city's west side

'Foul odor' led police to drug bust inside building

DETROIT – Detroit police officers discovered $600,000 worth of marijuana Friday while investigating for graffiti in the 14300 block of Cloverdale Street on Detroit's west side.

Police said officers were conducting a general patrol investigation for graffiti on the building when they discovered utility fraud.

When they got inside the building, they smelled a foul odor and discovered $600,000 worth of marijuana.

It's unclear if any arrests have been made in the case.
