3D printing model shows plan for District Detroit

DETROIT – Come September, the new home of the Detroit Pistons and Red Wings will be hosting games, concerts and more.

But right now, it's only partially finished and it's difficult to visualize what it's going to look like, especially with other apartments, offices and hotels surrounding it.

Local 4 got a look at a high-tech tool -- a large 3D printed model -- that Olympia Development and Entertainment has been using to plan the arena.

You can take a look at the model and the plans for the finished product in Nick Monacelli's video posted above.
