DTE Energy: 5,500 customers still without power in Metro Detroit after severe storms

Residents without power following severe weather

DETROIT – DTE Energy said there are about 5,500 customers without power in Metro Detroit after severe weather passed through the area Wednesday evening.

More than 20,000 customers had been without power late Wednesday night, but a majority of those residents have had electricity restored.

Severe thunderstorms sliced through Metro Detroit on Wednesday, and there is a chance for more storms on Thursday.
