Police use Taser on man holding knife to his own throat at Wixom Bar

Man accused of threatening officers with knife at entrance of bar


WIXOM, Mich. – Police officers used a Taser to stun a man who was standing in the entrance of the Wixom Bar on Wednesday holding a knife to his own throat.

Police were called to the Wixom Bar on Pontiac Trail and found a man with a knife at the entrance of the bar.

The man is accused of making a threatening gesture toward officers before moving the knife toward his own throat.

One of the officers used a Taser in an attempt to stop the man from harming himself. The man cut himself, but only sustained a non-life-threatening injury.

Police took the man into custody and drove him to a nearby hospital.

The incident is under investigation. It's unclear if the man will face criminal charges.
