Reward offered for information regarding murder of River Rouge man

RIVER ROUGE, Mich. – Authorities are still looking for a suspect in the murder of Wayne Smart.

On Sept. 18, 2014, Smart was found dead in his bedroom with gunshot wound to the head. There was no signs of forced entry in his home, near the intersection of Superior and Eaton Streets. The father of four was a real estate contractor who was active in his community, functioning as local handyman.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest of Smart's killer. If the tip that leads to an arrest is received by midnight Thursday, an additional $1,000 will be added to the reward.
