8-month-old child suffers multiple head fractures at Detroit home

DETROIT – An 8-month-old child was rushed to St. John Hospital on Monday night with multiple head fractures, Detroit police said.

The child is listed in critical condition.
The child's father told police he laid the child on a bed and walked out of the room. He said he heard a boom and when he walked back into the room he found the child on the floor.
This happened at a home in the 11600 block of Laing Street.
The Detroit Police Department's Child Abuse unit is investigating.
