DETROIT – Firefighters responded to a fire Wednesday morning inside the MGM Grand casino in Detroit. 

The building was evacuated. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. 

The preliminary investigation showed the fire started in the restaurant Palette Dining Studio. 

The casino and hotel have since reopened. MGM Grand Detroit said Palette Dining Studio and Breeze will remain closed until the cleanup is complete.

No injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

MGM Grand Detroit released the following statement:

"MGM Grand Detroit thanks the Detroit Fire Department for their prompt response and investigation. The safety of our guests and team members is our priority."
