Debate rages on as special meeting about future of Detroit Grand Prix draws crowd to Belle Isle

Some want race moved from island

DETROIT – The debate about whether the Detroit Grand Prix should remain on Belle Isle continues to rage on from both sides.

At a special meeting Thursday with the Belle Isle Park Advisory Committee, groups who want the race to remain on Belle Isle and groups who want it moved flocked to the island to let their voices be heard.
