Traffic: Lane closures piling up 🚧

We're looking at a substantial list of lane closures throughout the region today, so let's get to some of the bigger ones:

In Macomb County:

  • WB I-94 at County Line Rd lane closed for maintenance
  • EB I-94 at County Line Rd lane closed for maintenance

In Wayne County:

  • EB US-12 (Michigan Ave) at US-24 right lane closed for maintenance

In Washtenaw County:

  • EB/WB 8 mile ramp to SB US-23 closed for construction
  • NB/SB Main St from M-14 to Huron St lane closed for construction

Secretary of State holds Town Hall on Voting Rights 🗳️

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson will host a Town Hall on Michigan's New Voting Rights today at the Oak Park Public Library. Benson is expected to discuss new rules and how they affect Michigan citizens when registering to vote, voting by mail or voting a straight-party ticket. Members of the public will be able to share their ideas and learn more about their new voting rights.

The 10th Annual Senior Summit is today in Detroit. This year, close to 2,000 senior citizens are expected to attend the event at Erma Henderson Park, 8800 E. Jefferson Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's all about focusing on the need of seniors and how to help make life easier for them.

Detroit will be the subject at the 2nd Annual ROCK THAT Photography Conference and Trade Show, as hundreds of renowned and novice photographers participate in the highly anticipated three-day conference at the Suburban Collection Showplace. It starts today and runs through Saturday. Check it out for photography education, business workshops, panel discussions, trade show exhibits, photo walks in Downtown Detroit, and community service projects.

TODAY: Participating Dairy Queen locations in Southeastern Michigan will raise funds for Beaumont Children's. During "Miracle Treat Day" $1 or more from every Blizzard Treat sold at participating locations will be donated to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which raises funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals across the U.S. and Canada.
