Three vehicle fatal crash closes eastbound lanes at Outer Drive

DETROIT – A three vehicle fatal crash has left the eastbound I-96 express lanes at Outer Drive closed, according to Michigan State Police. Traffic delays are expected as a result.

According to police, the crash happened after the female driver of a vehicle failed to yield while switching lanes and was struck by a second vehicle. Police say the crash forced the at-fault vehicle into the rear of a semi truck.

The at-fault driver was taken to a hospital where she was was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported. Police are still investigating the crash.
