Michigan Gov. Whitmer to visit Israel this week, first international trip since taking office

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is beginning her first overseas trip since becoming governor this week with a trip to Israel, she announced.

Whitmer will be making stops in Bethlehem, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv in an effort to bring jobs back here.

Former Gov. Rick Snyder also worked to create business ties with Israel during his time in office.

Whitmer’s trip ends Sunday.
