Ex-NBA player opens marijuana dispensary in Detroit

DETROIT – Michigan will begin rolling out recreational marijuana to consumers in the coming weeks -- which means more and more businesses will be popping up.

One of those will be Viola, a cannabis provision center founded by former NBA player Al Harrington. The Viola Provision Center officially opened to the public on Monday, and will likely seek to add recreational marijuana to their business in the near future.

Michigan has started to approval recreational licenses in the state, with the first being in Ann Arbor. Products could be available in early December.

Viola carries a wide range of strains, along with related cannabis and CBD products.

“This is a very special time for Viola. We have been developing our brand for over 10 years, producing ultra premium products rooted in purpose and social equity,” said Al Harrington, Founder of Viola Brands. “The launch of our first flagship store in Detroit, is a testament to the growth and overall expansion of Viola.”

The Viola Provision Center is located at 4473 W. Jefferson Ave Suite B, Detroit MI 48209 operating from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday. In 2020, Viola plans to unveil its (40,000 sq ft) state-of-the-art processing and distribution center inside the Viola Provision Center.
