DETROIT – Girls’ flag football took over Wayne State University’s Tom Adams Field as Wild Child Athletics hosted an event giving girls a chance to try the sport.
The event, held Thursday (Aug. 20) night, welcomed girls with varying levels of experience, including those who had never played flag football.
Participants rotated through stations where they could learn the fundamentals of the game, meet athletes and community leaders, and get hands-on experience.
Girls who attended also received a custom jersey as part of the event.
Wild Child Athletics organizers said the goal was to give girls an opportunity to get involved, build confidence, and experience the sport in a welcoming environment.
Those who missed Thursday night’s event can still participate in the upcoming season.
Registration is now open through Wild Child Athletics at wildchildathletics.com.
