DETROIT – Gregory McQueen pleaded guilty to charges connected to the death of Alisha McQueen, a Detroit mother of five.

Alisha McQueen's family reported her missing in March 2018. It wasn't until September 2018 when police were called to a vacant lot in Ecorse after someone discovered human remains, some encased in concrete.

Gregory McQueen, 30, was sentenced to 27-40 years in prison after pleading guilty. He also was sentenced to 5-10 years in prison for a mutilation of a body charge, to be served concurrent to the other sentencing.

Gregory McQueen, also of Detroit, was charged with open murder and denied bond, accused of killing his wife Alisha. He also faced a mutilation of a body charge. They had four children together, all under the age of 10. The couple were living separately at the time.

Alisha's family said Gregory McQueen had been violent before. He spoke before his sentencing on Tuesday.

"To my children, I'm sorry that you all have to go through this ... my actions were not intentional," he said.

Judge Wanda Evans said she hopes the family can find peace.
