A Metro Detroit high school decided to make some changes after a student tried to get into school with a loaded gun.
It happened at Eastpointe High School. At the time, the gun was confiscated and no one was injured. But the principal and superintendent decided to make some major changes -- and turned to armed security.
Now, long before students arrive to class, Devin Benson, an armed security guard has already patrolled the school grounds. The school turned to Fortis Group security for armed guards and has put in metal detectors.
The school also developed its own OK2SAY tip reporting system to compliment the state of Michigan’s OK2SAY program.
