Lake Orion Community Schools will be open but under a soft lockdown on Wednesday while law enforcement are searching for a gunman after a shooting Tuesday night in Ortonville.
The school district superintendent said in a statement that the Oakland County Sheriff will have deputies at all schools.
The district would not say at which middle school the wanted man was working. However, the district did say he was a seasonal coach and never worked as a teacher in the district.
