DETROIT – Neighbors in Southwest Detroit are speaking out after a driver suspected of racing crashed his vehicle along Fort Street near I-75.

Ann Byrne says the part of the city where the crash happened has become a hot spot, and that existing reckless driving laws simply aren’t enough to contain it.
“We are appealing to the charter commission, the council to get some laws passed that give the police actual teeth to enforce this stuff,” she said.
