Woman fatally shot on Detroit’s northwest side, police say

DETROIT – A 24-year-old woman was fatally shot Saturday morning on Detroit’s northwest side, police said.

The shooting happened at 9:45 a.m. on Schaefer Highway in Detroit, according to officials. The woman was allegedly shot by a man who fled the scene.

Officials said that the victim was shot inside her apartment.

Police say that the possible suspect is a medium build male with short hair and facial hair. The suspect is believed to be in their 20s. In a statement, the police write that it is possible the suspect was last seen wearing all black clothing.

Detectives are currently working on leads for this crime. Police are encouraging the suspect to turn themselves in.
