Jerome Brown-Pegues, 36, charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct

A convicted sex offender has been found guilty of raping his teenage co-worker at a Jimmy John’s in Sterling Heights.

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – A convicted sex offender has been found guilty of raping his teenage co-worker at a Jimmy John’s in Sterling Heights.

Jerome Brown-Pegues, 36, paroled in 2022 for criminal sexual conduct in the third degree in Wayne County, made sexual advances toward the teenage victim.

When the victim declined his advances, Brown-Pegues became aggressive, raping the teenage victim in the storage room of the sub shop, officials say.

The 36-year-old man was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct (a 15-year sentence), with a second offense notice (mandatory five years).

Brown-Pegues’ sentencing is scheduled for March 22 at 9 a.m.
