3 women charged for running prostitution ring across multiple Metro Detroit cities

Two of the women are not in custody at this time

Three women have been charged with running a prostitution ring across multiple cities in Metro Detroit.

Allegedly, Lori Cai from Troy, Michigan, Shuying Ding of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Xiaohong Ban of Chicago, Illinois, ran multiple massage parlors that were offering sexual solicitation.

Cai, 31, was charged with keeping a house of prostitution (5-year felony); Ding, 41, was charged with keeping a house of prostitution (5-year felony) and prostitution (93-day misdemeanor); and Ban, 52, was charged with keeping a house prostitution (5-year felony).

Ban was charged on Thursday (Dec. 14) in 41B Clinton Township District Court, where she received a $10,000 personal bond. If she is released, the 52-year-old must wear a GPS tether.

A probable cause conference is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 8:30 a.m.

Cai and Ding are not in custody at this time.

“Thank you to the incredible joint efforts by all of the law enforcement agencies and Turning Point in this case,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. “This proves that with the necessary resources, we can succeed in ridding prostitution and human trafficking from our communities.”
