PONTIAC, Mich. – With good weather comes bad roads. Unfortunately, that’s what we’re already starting to see this year.

Usually at this time of year, the Oakland County Road Commission would be sharing its plan for treating snow and ice, but this week, they are handling a different problem.

A quick trip down 8 Mile Road in Northville will have you bouncing up and down. The potholes are everywhere.

Frank Pena with the Oakland County Road Commission said pothole patching is always part of his job description, but he usually does it in the spring. For now, the salt trucks are in the garage, while pothole patch trucks are out tending to where residents are seeing the worst of it.

After each pothole is repaired, the workers sign off on it to close the request filed by Oakland County residents.

If there’s a pothole on your commute that needs to be patched, you can report it to the Oakland County Road Commission here. You can also call 877-858-4804 if the fix is seen as an emergency.
