Eastpointe police close down massage parlor involved in illegal services for second time in 3 years

Officials say parlor offers more than massages behind closed doors

EASTPOINTE, Mich.Eastpointe police have shut down a massage parlor for the second time in the last three years.

According to officials, the parlor offers more than massages behind closed doors.

The sign out front reads “Bella Touch Massage.”

The business is in a strip mall at the corner of 10 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue, and police complaints have started to pick up.

“Throughout the last few months, we received complaints from the community,” Lt. Alexander Holish said. “People would come to get a legitimate massage, and they are being offered sexual favors for extra money after the completion of the massage.”

Eastpointe sent an undercover officer in to check it out, and he, too, was offered sexual favors. That’s when the police moved to shut it down.

The business owner of record was not on the premises and the women who was had unclear immigration status. This isn’t the first time police have raided the business.

“We did a similar sting operation at this place three years ago for the same thing,” Holish said.

In addition to criminal prosecution, the business is being referred to the city’s building department for revocation of its operating license.
