Opening Day in Detroit 2024: Road closures, public transit options Hopefully, you have your parking plan in place for Opening Day
DETROIT – With less than 48 hours to go before Opening Day at Comerica Park, there’s a big heads-up for folks headed downtown: multiple road closures in and around the downtown core that could cause a snag ahead of the big game .
It stems from the work that’s being done for the 2024 NFL Draft . There are road closures around Randolph and Monroe streets, as well as Cadillac Square. Farmer and Bates streets are also closed. Barricades are set up on Fort Street and Lafayette Avenue.
City officials are telling people to not be caught off guard but to plan.

For those worried about coming downtown, take advantage of public transportation. You can park a little further north, take the QLine down and take the People Mover around downtown. Both are free.
