DETROIT – Sunday is the last day to get a free prom dress from Jackets for Jobs.

High school students in need of a prom dress have been able to visit the boutique to get a free dress. The event is now in its second year.

The boutique is a partnership between Comerica Bank and Jackets for Jobs. Jackets for Jobs received 2,500 prom dresses from Comerica Bank.

“Day one of our three-day prom dress giveaway was a success! Seeing so many girls walk out with smiles on their faces was truly rewarding. We’re grateful to be able to help make dreams come true by providing the perfect dress for prom,” Jackets for Jobs said in a social media post.

Teens from more than 50 schools across Metro Detroit have received free dresses for prom. Volunteers said it’s all about paying it forward.

Sunday, April 21, 2024, is the last day to get a prom dress. The boutique runs from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Samaritan Center at 5555 Conner Street, Suite 2097 in Detroit. Registration information can be found at jacketsforjobs.org.
