DETROIT – The northbound lanes of I-75 to northbound M-10 have been forced to close due to a semi-truck rollover in Detroit.

The incident occurred on Wednesday (May 1) when the 50-year-old driver from Detroit was entering northbound M-10 and did not observe the 25mph advisory speed limit on the exit ramp.

According to officials, the driver’s failure to control the semi-truck led to a rollover onto its side.

The semi-truck started leaking diesel fuel, and the load had to be evacuated as it was deemed a hazmat situation.

“We have seen quite a few drivers exiting the freeway at an unsafe speed,” said Michigan State Police F/Lt Mike Shaw. “It is even worse when you are driving a semi. Pay attention for the yellow suggested speed signs so you can exit safely.”
